Assistant Professor Dr. Muhannad Hameed Muhaidi, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, participated in the public defense of a Master’s thesis entitled:
“The Economic Variable and the Development of U.S.–China Relations after 2017,”
which was held at Al-Alamein Institute for Graduate Studies in Najaf.

The study examined the economic variable as one of the most significant factors influencing the development of relations between the United States and China after 2017. It highlighted how this factor contributed to shifting the relationship from a framework of cooperation to one of strategic competition, particularly in the fields of trade, technology, and supply chains, making it a key determinant in reshaping the balance of power within the international economic system.

The examination committee consisted of:

  • Professor Dr. Ali Hadi Hameedi – Chair
  • Assistant Professor Dr. Muhannad Hameed Muhaidi – Member
  • Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Hussein Al-Rumaihi – Member
  • Professor Dr. Mohammed Yas Khudhair – Member and Supervisor

The defense witnessed an in-depth academic discussion that reflected a high scholarly level and underscored the importance of the topic in explaining the transformations driven by economic factors in shaping this relationship. At the conclusion of the defense, the thesis was approved for fulfilling the requirements for the Master’s degree in Political Science.
