France Between the Legacy of Charles de Gaulle and the Vision of Emmanuel Macron: Toward a New Strategic Balance
As part of the academic contributions of our faculty members, the Al-Bayan Center for Planning and Studies has published an opinion article by Dr. Muayyad Jubair entitled:
“A Gaullist Legacy and a Macronian Vision”
The article highlights France’s orientation toward strengthening its relations with China as a strategic option aimed at reshaping European balances and reducing international polarization. This is pursued through diversifying partnerships and opening up to emerging global powers, in line with current requirements and rapid transformations.
The article also offers an analytical reading that combines the Gaullist legacy with the Macronian vision in managing French foreign policy, reflecting Paris’s pursuit of achieving relative independence in its strategic decision-making within the European and international arenas.
