A Preliminary Reading of the Results of the 2026 Hungarian Parliamentary Elections

Under the Patronage of the Dean of the College of Political Science,
Professor Dr. Ahmed Ali,

Within the series of intellectual seminars (Event & Analysis),

The College of Political Science – University of Anbar will hold a scientific panel discussion on Sunday, February 19, 2026, titled:

“A Preliminary Reading of the Results of the 2026 Hungarian Parliamentary Elections”

The panel aims to shed light on the ruling party’s loss after nearly (16) years in power to one of its former leaders who defected from it, and what this reflects in terms of shifts in the political landscape and the redistribution of seats within the parliament.

The discussion also seeks to present a comparative analytical perspective with the Iraqi experience after 2003, when the country transitioned from a centralized political system to a pluralistic democratic system. The Iraqi Council of Representatives, consisting of 329 seats distributed among various political blocs and electoral lists, has produced a dynamic political competition and the formation of governments through changing parliamentary alliances, rather than the monopoly of power.

Speaker:
Electoral Affairs Expert
Mr. Saad Al-Rawi

Time: 11:00 AM
Venue: Library of the College of Political Science
