College of Political Science Holds an Awareness Lecture on Rationalizing Water Consumption to Address Water Scarcity in Iraq

The College of Political Science held an awareness lecture entitled “Rationalizing Water Consumption as a Strategy to Address Water Scarcity in Iraq”, as part of the College’s efforts to raise awareness of water resource issues and contemporary environmental challenges. The lecture took place on Tuesday, 23/12/2025, at the Martyr Professor Dr. Mohammed Hardan Al-Haiti Hall.

The lecture was delivered by Engineer Khamis Jassim Shehab, Assistant Director of Water Resources in Anbar, and was moderated by Assistant Lecturer Fouad Jameel Khalaf.

The lecture highlighted the importance of rationalizing water use in buildings and its role in mitigating the water scarcity crisis facing Iraq. It also reviewed the most prominent mechanisms and strategies capable of achieving water sustainability.
