Middle East Wars: Endless Wars
A faculty member in our college, Lecturer Dr. Khalid Hashem, has authored a scholarly article entitled:
“Middle East Wars: Endless Wars”
In this article, he addresses a set of fundamental questions that have increasingly imposed themselves on the reality of conflicts in the region. Among the most prominent are:
Why have Middle Eastern conflicts transformed from limited, negotiable wars into open-ended, existential, and legitimized conflicts?
Why do political agreements in the region repeatedly collapse? Do these agreements address the root causes of conflict, or do they merely freeze them temporarily?
The article also examines the declining effectiveness of military resolution, which is no longer sufficient to end conflicts, but in many cases has become an entry point for new cycles of confrontation.
This article is part of the publications of the Medad Project, issued by the Rewaq Baghdad Center for Public Policy.
