Participation in a Scientific Discussion

Assistant Professor Dr. Abdulaziz Alawi, a faculty member at the College of Political Science / University of Anbar, participated as a member of the discussion committee for the higher professional diploma (equivalent to a master’s degree) student, Basim Raad Mahmoud, for his thesis entitled:

“The Role of Iraqi Electronic Journalism in Shaping Public Political Awareness Regarding Parliamentary Elections – A Field Study.”

The discussion took place at the College of Media / University of Baghdad, on the morning of Thursday, June 19, 2025, in the Martyr Mohammed Baqir Al-Sadr Hall.

The committee included several professors from the University of Baghdad and was chaired by Professor Dr. Laith Badr Yousif, with the following members:

• Assistant Professor Dr. Jassim Tarish Ghadhib / College of Media – University of Baghdad

• Professor Dr. Shukriya Kukaz Al-Sarraj / College of Media – University of Baghdad (Supervisor)

• Assistant Professor Dr. Abdulaziz Alawi / University of Anbar (External Member)

During the discussion, Dr. Alawi provided precise and important academic remarks that enriched the academic dialogue and enhanced the value of the research. The committee praised the student’s academic level and the effort exerted in preparing the study.
